The Broadmoor is one of the more regal locations in the Colorado Springs area where Presidents will stay when visiting. It sits right in the midst of some beautiful mountains and plays host to millionaires and geese alike. A friend of ours, who loves our work, wanted his sister to see how a session would go. As a gift he bought a shoot special during one of our sales for her. He told us that he was just after a little session for her to update portraits. Along with portraits of her he was looking for some photos of just the two of them as well.

We met down at The Broadmoor and got right into shooting. I’d been wanting to practice in with an external flash and had it setup for most of these shots. There were a couple of key locations to utilize for the session. After the first location in front of the tiered water fountain, we went over to the side of the lake. With all the Christmas lights set up and a full view of the lake we planted at that location.

The trees and rock shoreline served well in creating natural elements we could pose her on/with. We primarily focused on posing her as we did solo shots for a bit. All in all we had a great time with Sara and her brother. We loved getting to shoot with all the Christmas lighting up for The Broadmoor portrait photography session.

With all the holiday lights out, The Broadmoor transforms into a majestic winter wonderland. It is such a beautiful location to walk around and get portraits done.
