FLATIRONS VISTA TRAILHEAD FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Ethan and Ashley were two of my closest friends as we endured nursing school together. The relationships you build while going through nursing school are deep as the program is intense, time consuming and difficult. While in nursing school, Ethan and Ashley weren’t a couple. To see their relationship flourish over the last couple years has been heartwarming.

When Ashley reached out to me in need of updated family photographs, we were so excited. Not only were they some of our closest friends but we got to capture these two and Ethans two daughters. When discussing locations we decided to go with Flatirons Vista Trailhead outside of Boulder. This location offers beautiful views of the Flatirons and a gorgeous backdrop for family photos.

When we got there, they were so well coordinated with their attire and ready to jump into photos. Heading north on the trail we got our Flatirons family photography session going. We grabbed some family shots of everyone together with a view of the flatirons behind them. We then headed the opposite way down the trail towards tree line. The last session we did at Flatirons Trailhead we got some beautiful shots on a fence post. The fence was our first stop for some couples shots and individuals of the daughters before heading to our next stop.

Ashley was in these gorgeous wedges and to our surprise it did not hinder her ability to hike this trail! With Ashley being in heels, James went ahead and scouted some locations to plan our session as to not lead to any unnecessary hiking. While James was ahead, we grabbed some shots here and chatted away as we hadn’t hung out in a while.

COLORADO FAMILY PHOTOS

When we connected with James again, we went up to an open field and did some photos of the family. We had them sit in the middle of the field with a stunning backdrop and grabbed some fun shots of them having tickle fights and enjoying each other’s company. Happy with these shots we had them all walk together holding hands in this field.

We moved on to our next location as we were satisfied with the shots we grabbed in the field. On the way to the tree line we found a small stream that we sat them next to and grabbed some individual shots of the girls as well as some shots of just Ashley and Ethan. Once we hit the tree line we found some great spots to sit the family down and get some great photos with the whole crew and the trees.

From there we continued on to another open field that James had found. There we did some photos of Ethan with his daughters as well as some photos of all the girls. A storm was rolling in so we began to wrap up the session by grabbing some last shots of Ethan and Ashley walking in between the trees.

We all agreed that we got some great shots and were happy to wrap up our Flatirons family photography session. We made our way back down the trail right before the storm rolled over, made great timing!
