SAULT LAVENDER FIELD FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

After we got some great photos together with Jessie and her husband in Switzerland we wanted to try again! This time it was Rachel’s birthday and if you know her you know she loves all things lavender. So it goes without saying that getting to the lavender fields was a must do trip before we left Europe. So for her 29th birthday we drove down to Sault in Provence, France to see the lavender fields in bloom. After some conversation with Jessie, she said she could make it happen to drive in with her and her daughter. After we spent a couple days touring around Provence to different fields we chose a field we thought would be best.

Rachel and I took some photos of our own at another field before coming to this one. It was a hard choice because they’re all so beautiful in their own unique way. We chose this one because it had the rolling hills and great sunlight at sunset. Jessie and I took turns capturing photos as the light was hitting the hills of lavender just right. She began and got shots of Rachel walking through the rows of lavender. Then I came in and took shots of Jessie walking through the lavender in her dress. She had a beautiful purple dress that she began with and it was so flowy and fun for this Sault lavender field photography session.

We also bought a bundle of lavender we gave her for a few shots here before switching. Next Jessie took some shots with Rachel and I and we love them. We’ve got shots from her on the website and printed in our house. I jumped in and got some more shots with her and Joselyn as the sun was setting. They were so cute together as I just instructed them to love on one another. As the sun set behind the rolling lavender hills we turned around and used what light was left. There was still good light to work and I got shots with Jessie with the light we had. We were able to work in some boudoir type shots with Jessie while Joselyn went back to the van. They were going to camp overnight in the field in their van.

It was really great getting to see and work with Jessie again. We’ll forever cherish the photos Jessie got of us and I think we captured some special memories for her and Joselyn.
