Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a beautiful town in Bavaria that has beautifully preserved walls, cobblestone, and towers. If you haven’t been able to visit this beautiful town it’s worth a visit. On this day we had three different sessions and they were all great to be apart of. With it being two hours away from Kaiserslautern we like to schedule multiple sessions at a time. Our first session here was a Rothenburg ob der Tauber boudoir photography session with Miss China. For this session I got to explore the city a little more and got rained on a little bit. The next session here began as a couples photography session but it turned into a Rothenburg ob der Tauber proposal photography session. During this session the rain came as well but we powered through, even danced in the rain.

When it came time to meet with the Holt family the clouds were starting to clear. We met at the city square and went over to my favorite spot to start things out. My favorite spot is in front of the Romantik Hotel Markusturm as it has a beautiful curbside appeal. The shutters pop with a beautiful red and are adorned with flowers. They have lanterns on the corners of their buildings and a beautiful cobblestone road out front. The Holt family had two little ones and were celebrating one on the way. We did some shots with the whole family to begin and then did some shots with just Linda. After that we brought in the kiddos with her and then we made our way through the city.

On the way to the edge of town we stopped at an alley that you could see the cathedral through. Before we got to the end of town there was another beautiful location we found. There was a compound with a gate and a lovely courtyard that we stopped in front of. We made it to the end and stopped here at the castle walls and the gatehouse. Here we took photos of the whole family and then went over to the wall that overlooks the city. There was a pathway that went down that we went over to next for additional shots. Happy with these photos we went back to the city square for some more family and maternity photos. For these photos I had them sit on the cobblestone and love on one another.

After that I then had them stand together in front of the timber framing buildings behind them. At this point we began to walk out toward the parking lot where we all parked. On the way we made a stop on a cobblestone road in front of the St. Jakobskirche cathedral. With some shots of family, mother and the couple together we continued out toward the parking lot. There was one last stop we made in front of the gate linked to the wall surrounding the city. We love this town and we’d love to do more photos here.
