Over the years we’ve gotten to know our now dear friends Zach + Naya. We initially met this beautiful couple in Mexico when we were both visiting Chichen Itza. I was looking for someone to trade cameras with to snap a couple photos of Rachel and I. I saw Zach and listened to them converse for a moment and decided I’d approach them. They were open to us grabbing some photos for them with their camera and to take our photos with our camera. After we took some photos we hung around each other and talked as we continued to explore. As we continued to chat we found we connected and wanted to spend more time together. After we left Chichen Itza we went to Il Kil with them, a local cenote in Mexico. We knew after we left we had to stay in touch and we’ve done just that.

Our next trip we did a camping trip with them in California next to a lake. We’ve stayed in touch wherever we go and moving here it meant we couldn’t really see each other as much. My daughters live in Nashville and we went to go visit them for a week. During that week we spent a lot of quality time with my daughters. When we weren’t with them we had time to spend with Zach Naya around Nashville. On one of the days spending time with them we met and did a Cumberland Park couples photography session. When we met we showed up with cookies and other treats and spent some time at the park first.

Once we had gotten through our snacks we got under way at the park. The sun was beginning to set behind the skyline of Nashville which gave some great lighting. There was a grassy area with an amphitheater that we began our session with them. As we went further down the walkways we found some fun little areas to shoot at. The first spot was a walkway out over the water that we got some cute shots with them at. The next spot was a small bridge over another walkway. Happy with these shots we kept going and made our next stop under the bridge. The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge was a beautiful spot to grab photos with them. After we got some fun photos under the bridge we took the elevator up to the top of the bridge.

With the sun setting behind them and the bridge as our setting we got a lot of fun shots. They’re such a fun couple and have fun with one another which made this session so fun. Above and beyond them being our friends, they love one another and have such a fun energy. Thinking we could grab some more shots on the way back we began to go back toward the cars. We snuck in a few more shots under the bridge before we found some abandoned rail cars. I had them climb up on the cars using the attached ladders. We got some really fun shots here with them to close out this Cumberland Park couples photography session. We love our good friends and we’re so excited to move to Nashville where they’ve purchased a home.
