BURG LICHTENBERG FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Christine got in touch with me through our Facebook page initially for 10 year anniversary photos. She expressed that in the past they hadn’t had good photos from sessions. With this big event in their lives coming up though she was open to doing a shoot. For the session she had heard good things about Burg Lichtenberg and chose that location to meet at for the shoot. When she arrived it was her, her husband and their daughter and we began with getting to know one another. To get things going we made our first stop at the main castle entrance. There are some beautiful arches that go over the walkway leading in to the center of the castle.

After that we made our way further up the trail and into the interior of the castle. Here there is a cobblestone pathway that leads up to the center tower and ruins on either side. We made another stop in the ruins on the side where there are some beautiful archways. Next I did some photos of them walking together down the cobblestone pathway holding hands. Further up the trail there are some higher stone walls that I had them pose together at. Once you’re up into the main part of the castle, there’s a terrace with the tower in the middle. I got them to do some photos next to the wall surrounding the terrace and then in front of it. After that I had them get up on the wall and we got some really fun photos here.

KAISERSLAUTERN CASTLE PHOTOGRAPHY

There are a number of castle ruins here in the Kaiserslautern area that you can visit. This one is one of the best to take photos at in the area and is one of the longest castle ruins in Europe. Beyond having some great ruins to explore and the tower to go up into, there’s a nearby hill you can go up to that has a great view of the castle and valley. After the shots around the tower we made the climb up to the top of the tower. It’s got all wood interior and has a number of flights of stairs to take to the top. While up here the sun was setting and brought in some beautiful light into the tower. Once we got all our shots at the top of the tower we began to make our way back to the cars. We made one last stop on the way out for a few more photos and then got to the cars.

It’s a quick drive up the hill but a little harder if you take the road on foot. The bike trail I usually stop at is just past the big parking lot and has a graveyard next to it. You can park on the side of the trail there in the grass and use the surrounding area for photos. As the sun began to set I had them pose in this open field area together. Throughout the session Cat (their daughter) was so fun to interact with and was such a character with a great laugh. We had a wonderful time shooting together and they were so happy with the end result.
