BURG ELTZ COUPLES PHOTOGRAPHY

She inquired about doing a session at Burg Eltz and we were happy to talk details. Burg Eltz is a beautiful castle located about 2 hours away from Kaiserslautern. If you’re up for the drive from here it’s a beautiful location and worth a visit. The family of one of the three original families who built the castle still lives there today. From what we’ve been told they’re very lovely people and will often come down to have wine with visitors. With this location being two hours away we try to group together sessions here to one day. With this in mind we scheduled 3 sessions here at Burg Eltz for this day.

The first session of the day here is always easiest to not get people in the background. It’s definitely not impossible to get people out of your background but it definitely gets harder. In general people in Europe are less incline to wait in line or be respectful of others around them. So when it gets busier it’s definitely a free for all and no real order to getting photos. So with the Anchetta family it was easy to walk down to the castle and start shooting before the busy hours. With no one else on the main bridge, we began here so we could lock in good shots here before others arrived. As we were finishing on the bridge more people began to show up and photographers, we finished just in time.

GERMAN CASTLE PHOTOGRAPHY

For the next part of their session we went down to the staircase that leads to the river. This is one of my favorite spots as it puts the castle right behind my subject if you angle it right. I climbed up the side a little and shot through some vegetation to get some fun shots. After that we made our way down to the river and crossed over. On the other side of the river there is a large grass area that you can get to. There’s no path down to the grass area so you have to make your way down through a steep forested hill. Once you’re down though there’s a beautiful open area and a great view of the castle. We wrapped up our Burg Eltz couples photography session here and made our way back up to the bridge. It was great getting to meet the Ancehta family and capture these photos with them.
