BEAR CREEK NATURE CENTER MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY

The Flowers were the couple that always said they weren’t going to have a family. They didn’t have it in their plans to have a baby (as far as we knew). So when they let everyone know that they were pregnant, the first response was shock. They also apparently they had the same response as well! After they gave the news they sent a message asking me to do their Bear Creek Nature Center maternity photography session. I was happy to be asked to do so.

Every year since I’d been doing photography more seriously I’d shot at the Bear Creek Nature Center. Every session came out beautifully so I figured, might as well go back there. There are still locations I haven’t convinced anybody to go to but the Flowers were up for the task. Sometimes hiking can be a little too strenuous, especially while pregnant. We began shooting along the way near the creek and got some beautiful images. Within the surrounding foliage while on the creek there were a number of beautiful settings for these Bear Creek .

From there we made pitstops here and there to make sure we didn’t do too much at once. We were going at a comfortable pace for the mommy to be and took some photos where we could. We finally made it to the top of the hike and came across the open fields I’d been wanting to shoot at. This spot was backing up to the mountain range with a beautiful overlook of the city. The sun was setting beautifully and gave some beautiful lighting for the remainder of our session. I brought along the light prism as well for this session and I was able to pull in some fun and artistic reflections from the surrounding scenery.
