LAKE CLEMENTINE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

When Rachel began travel nursing and we got our first contract in the Sacramento area I was excited! I knew I was going to be able to see some old friends and possibly get to do some photos with them. Sure enough, while we were living in Sacramento an old friend announced she was engaged. They were looking for option for a photographer and I replied to her post. After som conversation we put together a contract to come out for their Lake Natoma Inn wedding photography and to do their engagement photos. We talked through ideas of where to shoot and she had just the location to shoot at.

They picked me up early in the morning, Rachel had already gone to work, but we wanted to get sunrise light. We drove up to Auburn and found our way down the dam road. Once we found a spot to park we began to make our way down to the water. Leading to the dam there’s a canyon around the river and we hiked up the side to get a good vantage. It was quite a site and it was really pretty to sit and watch the water fall down from the dam. It’s crazy growing up in a place and never seeing all the local beautiful sites. Coming back I have a different appreciation for things to visit and see and it was great to be able experience this place.

SACTAMENTO ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

We began the session on the side of the canyon and had them holding one another and just love on one another. After that I got some shots close up and then we moved down closer to the water. I got shots of them hiking and walking together and then we turned the other direction. Here we got shots of them with the river in front of them and the hills surrounding it. I had them stay in this position and I went further down to be closer to the water. Here I got some shots of them further away with the dam in the background. I came back up to them and got some closer shots and then we all walked down closer to the water. There were a variety of different angles and poses we were able to get here with them close to the water.

With the sun coming out and our time coming to and end we began to hike back out. On the way out we made a stop higher up and closer to the dam and shot down. These were some great shots and we were all happy with the shots and made our way back to the road. The leaves on the trees surrounding the road were colorful and pretty so we made one more stop. It was so great to get to see an old friend and to reconnect. We were so honored and happy to be involved in their engagement and wedding photos.
