EIFFEL TOWER PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHY

When we first got to Germany we only knew 1 person who Rachel worked with back in the states. To get business rolling I did a few session giveaways to start getting our name out there. Paige entered her name and won our boudoir giveaway where we got to do a Burg Lichtenberg boudoir photography session with her. With it being our first boudoir session here we really wanted to shoot at a castle and include a dirndl. Paige was on board to shoot at a castle and owned a dirndl. From there we’d see and hang out with Paige at different social gatherings and would have her over for parties. All the while here she’d talk about her boyfriend back in the states, Chris. We never got to meet him until the end of Paige’s time here in Germany.

Chris was planning to come out to Germany to do some travel with Paige and help her PCSing. They were planning a trip to Paris and Paige got in touch with me to do a photo session. Doing a sunrise session at the Eiffel Tower had been on my bucket list to do before we left Europe so I was definitely in. Through some back and forth we found dates that would work and set out to travel to Paris together. On the other end of things Chris go in touch with me and told me that he was planning to propose in Paris. I was of course excited for them both but also to shoot a proposal now for them! There are a lot of beautiful places around Paris to propose but the Eiffel Tower seemed to stand out as the best option.

THE LOUVRE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

So Chris and Paige came over to our house, picked us up and we got under way from the train station. It’s a 2 hour train ride on the ICE train that got up to 320 km/h. Once we got to Paris we got settled at the Airbnb and went out for some food. We eventually found some food to eat and went back to get some rest, we had to be up early. The best time to shoot at the Eiffel Tower is at sunrise so there’s less people and crowds to deal with. Once we got there in the morning it was a beginning of the day and there were a handful of sessions happening. There was also construction happening all around the Eiffel Tower which made things a little harder for this Eiffel Tower proposal photography session.

The Eiffel Tower itself had scaffolding around it as it was getting renovations. Then the stairs we were shooting on had big plywood boards obstructing most of the upper portion and the view. The stairs were also blocked off which made the shooting windows smaller. We had to play the waiting game as photographers rotated around the few available options. Once there was an opening at the stairs we jumped in. There was a long enough opening for us to get good photos and to hand off the ring. Chris dropped to one knee and proposed as we all watched with excitement. Before leaving here we went down toward the grass and water areas to capture more photos. The rest of the trip we did separate things and met up for some engagement photos at the Louvre at sunset.

PARIS ENGAGEMENT PICTURES

We’ve loved getting to live here in Germany and the ease of getting to beautiful places like Paris. So happy to have been able to get this bucket list session in before we go and to capture these memories for Chris and Paige. We offer our congratulations to them and look forward to their wedding!
