One of Rachel’s friends, Sarah, got in touch with us to talk about providing Brittany Hill wedding photography for their wedding. We love any excuse to come back home to Colorado, or if we’re there to explore more of our home state. After some discussion back and forth we all agreed we would be a good fit for their wedding photos and we were so excited to celebrate with them!

We’d shot at a Wedgewood wedding venue before and we were excited to visit this location. With us being out of state and them being out of state as well we would forgo the engagement session and meet up on their wedding day.

DENVER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

To start the day off I had gone over to the Bristlecone shooting range where the groomsmen had gone to get things off with a bang. Mark’s brother had organized and brought along guns to shoot and they had quite an array to choose from. There were lots of laughs, some gangster shooting (holding the gun sideways – with permission of course) and even a friendly competition. For the competition you had 5 shots and whoever was furthest from bullseye had to pay for the first round (luckily I’m a decent shot, even after jumping in cold).

The ladies had rented an airbnb where Rachel went to join them. They had champagne flowing and hair/makeup going. Prior to hair and makeup there were even some face masks going on. They sat out back and soaked up some sun, enjoying their drinks and the company before they were picked up by their party bus and taken over to Brittany Hill to begin getting ready.

WEDGEWOOD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

This Wedgewood venue is really a beautiful location and has a nice setup for a lot. I got started with this Brittany Hill wedding photography by capturing detail shots; dresses, rings, the venue, etc. Once the bridal party arrived I went downstairs to work with the men as they played some foosball and had some drinks. Mark got to open the wedding gift that Sarah had gotten them which was an engraved bottle of 18 Year Macallan and some engraved scotch glasses. Rachel stayed with the bridesmaids as they opened letters and began to get ready. They were in their beautiful robes that Sarah had gotten them enjoying their champagne until it was time to get ready. I came upstairs once they were all dressed to help capture some pictures of the bride in her dress.

The time had finally come for the bride and groom to walk down the aisle for this Brittany Hill wedding photography. Everyone took their positions and the light came in and illuminated the ceremony as guests took their seats. Everyone was beautiful as they came down the aisle and stopped in front. The ceremony was filled with laughter and tears and we were so honored to be there to capture these special moments.

COLORADO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

With the ceremony over it was time to celebrate! At this point, guests made their way over to the reception area and grab drinks at the bar. During this time we took family photos as well as bridal party photos as the sun began to set. As the sun set we finished with bridal party and family so we were able to capture photos of just the two of them. The Brittany Hill location has a beautiful overlook of the city and the mountains. It’s a view we sometimes take for granted living in Colorado but it was on full display that evening.

It was time for the bridal party to make their gran entrance to the reception. Everyone came in happy as can be with smiles, drinks and even a sword. Sarah and Mark went right into their first dance as the sun set behind the rockies. After their first dance food was ready and that was immediately followed by toasts. The final toast was given by Sarah’s dad and they moved out to the dance floor for their father/daughter dance. In tradition Mark followed their dance by doing a mother/son dance with his mother on the dance floor.

LIVE BAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Now it was time to party! The Denver band, Mannequin the Band, they had hired for their wedding came out and go things moving. They had a great diversity amongst them in terms of instruments and talent. We highly recommend Mannequin the Band if you’re looking for a live band. We stole Sarah and Mark away for a brief period to get some night shots outside. They came out really pretty as the overlooked provided a beautiful vantage of the city behind them. At this point Rachel had to leave the wedding and make her way to the airport. The way that flights worked out and her work schedule she had to catch a flight out that night. We said our goodbyes and I returned to the dancing to capture more of the fun guests were having.

To end the night they had large glow sticks passed out to all their guests. Initially they gave them to guests who continued to dance with them for the final dance of the evening. Once the dance had ended they lined the stairway that lead from the exit to their getaway car. We had such a blast with this beautiful and fun couple. We’re so thankful to have been included in this special day with Sarah and Mark. If you’re in the market for venues in Denver we highly recommend this venue.
