LOS ANGELES ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Social media brought our worlds together for Sophia and Victor and their Los Angeles engagement photography throughout the city. Sophia and Vic are from Canada and we got in touch with Sophia to talk about being their photographers for their destination wedding in Mexico. After talking through details and working through logistics of working together, and bridging the gap between countries and people who have never met before, we came to an agreement to work together!

Our first step was to meet in Los Angeles and get some engagement photos with them! At the time Rachel and I were in Sacramento for her contract and it was an easy decision to fly down to LA for the day. I flew out early in the morning and caught an Uber over to the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden where we were supposed to meet. They were coming down to LA from Toronto to hang out with Sophia’s father.

CALIFORNIA ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

To start out our Los Angeles engagement photography session we got under way around the arboretum. The trees were in bloom and there were pink flowers throughout the area. We walked through a good chunk of the park stopping at beautiful spots and capturing beautiful photos. After a quick bite to eat for lunch we were on to the next stop, the Los Angeles Griffith Observatory. We were able to park in the top parking lot and walked around the observatory.

The observatory sits on a hill and overlooks all of Los Angeles. If you angle just right you can see the Hollywood signs in the background. It was pretty busy but we were able to work with the setting and angles to get some great photos. As the sun began getting lower in the sky we knew we needed to get going. Our plan was to make it to the Santa Monica pier at sunset.

SANTA MONICA ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

We arrived just in time as the sun was beginning to set. As it set the sky began to emit beautiful oranges and reds. With a number of sessions happening on the beach near the Santa Monica Pier and we had to share. Maneuvering to share with other photographers was a little bit of a challenge but we made it work. These were some of my favorite shots as the waves crashed in and the sun set on the ocean.

After the sun set they drove me back near the airport and I grabbed a quick bite to eat before flying back up to Sacramento. It was a quick in and out session and it was a great opportunity to meet them.
