After their Garden of the Gods proposal photography session, Colton and Maddison returned for a relaxing getaway. to get a reprieve from wedding planning. During the trip they had planned an engagement session with me and wanted something with good mountain views. I’d gone on hikes in the surrounding Colorado Springs area a little more and had found this beautiful mountain. I’d been able to shoot on top of with great views of the mountains and didn’t disappoint this time. It is, however, a grueling hike up to the top. I gave warning ahead of time and said it’s beautiful but it’s very steep and very loose. They said they were game and that they’d bring their hiking shoes.

The day finally came and we added in another location for a few shots. With that decided we began at the Broadmoor Hotel in the library. We didn’t spend too much time there before heading over to the North Cheyenne Canon Park where we eagerly got to the base anticipating the great views ahead for their mountain engagement photography session. A few minutes into the trek and I began to apologize more and more as the incline was quite severe. It’s hard to really prepare anyone for how steep it is and how loose the rock is. We took breaks and made our way steadily to the top though and they were troopers as we got closer. Once we were to the top though we all agreed it was worth the trek. After a short breather we began our North Cheyenne Cañon Park engagement photography session.

COLORADO SPRINGS ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY

We began with them facing toward a cliff and it took a little bit of doing to get there. In order to reach the spot we had to go up and around. After a bit of struggling to get there we got began with a few good images. Then we made our way around to the top of the mountain getting better and better images as we went. The view was spectacular and we had a great time at the top of the mountain together capturing beautiful images for their mountain engagement photography session.
